Here you'll find many members of the MULLIGAN family of Merivale and Nepean township, whose roots
stretch back to Dromore in the Banbridge District of County Down, Northern Ireland, and of the
Franco-Ontarian MARTELs of Embrun whose forbears came to Quebec from France generations earlier. In
addition to these two ancestral lines, also listed are many of the descendants of John MULLIGAN
(c1798) and Elizabeth BOYDE of Drumgooland, who came to the Townhip of Nepean about 1843 in search
of a new life and every Irishman's dream - the promise of land.
